Resistor is a metal band from New York made up of 5 talented artists whose ages range from 28 to 34. Anthony Grambo leads the band as their vocalist while Anthony Conti shreds guitar, Anthony Arce gets creative with turntables, Ian Schneider strums bass, and Peter Smith rips the drums.

The gang came together in 2018 but says they really grew with the addition of Conti and Arce in 2021. ”This is when we truly feel ‘Resistor’ began.” Their name came into play when the band broke and internal resistor in their amp during practice one night and the rest was really history.

They started out playing shows all over New York, but post-pandemic, they began touring as much as they possibly could. Some of those tours consisted of opening for bands such as Southpaw FLHC, FILTH, Traitors, etc... During their tour with Southpaw FLHC, Resistor gained a lot of popularity and support.

Another band was originally on the bill on that tour but dropped just a few days before the official tour announcement. When Resistor was offered the slot, they immediately accepted without hesitation. "They are truly some of the most hardworking and dedicated dudes that we know” says Resistor when asked about Southpaw FLHC.

When asked how it felt to be loved and supported by fans across the US, they showed tremendous love for the fans in return.

"The fact that so many people connect with our music and support us when we're just a couple of idiots playing heavy riffs is honestly awesome. There is no better feeling than having a fan talk to you about how much your band means to them. It’s the reason we do what we do."

Resistor released their newest EP in January of this year and it is currently sitting at over 400k streams on Spotify.

“It's tough as an independent and DIY band to really get your music out there but we're glad that so many people have resonated and helped us share it with as many people as possible.”

Off of that EP, Are You Happy Now has gotten the most traction so far with live audiences. "It's basically just one big breakdown and seeing people moshing and screaming the words back at us reminds us why we're up there."

Resistor will again be on tour with Southpaw FLHC starting May 5th in Clifton, NJ and ending May 15th in Mobile, AL. Two of Resistors favorite venues to play are included on this tour and they are stoked to be going back. "Milestone in Charlotte and The Music Box in Alabama are both places we've played so many times, and we love both of the cities as well as the people in it."
